Qualcomm has announced that is developing an accessory that could spread in the mobile TV, making it compatible with the iPhone and most smart phones.Unfortunately this is an accessory that decodes FLO TV, a U.S. mobile TV standard, so that Europe can not enjoy it.
We assume that this will be an accessory like 1seg Turner of Softbank, but that feature will use the third-party hardware compatibility with iPhone OS 3.0. They also will be compatible with Windows Mobile phones and more.
Until now, to see the FLO TV needed a dedicated chip that possess a small number of terminals, but the accessories are popular as a method of connecting to the TV, the number of users could increase considerably, especially if we add a cost monthly affordable.
Qualcomm intends to work with an accessory plug-in or that are physically connected, or via WiFi or Bluetooth.
Qualcomm expects to have ready for attachment to market launch next year.
